1. 대한민국의 강단에서 태평양의 연단으로

From Korea’s Classroom to the Pacific Stage

“역사를 잊은 민족은 다시 노예가 된다.”

“A nation that forgets its history becomes enslaved again.”

한국의 대표적 역사강사이자 애국적 연설가로 주목받고 있는 전한길 선생(Jeon Han-gil)이 오는 10월 26일(주일) 오후 4시, 하와이 호놀룰루 센트럴 유니언 교회 패리시홀에서 ‘자유민주주의 대한민국의 건국과 근대사(The Founding and Modern History of Free Democratic Korea)’를 주제로 특별 강연회를 연다.

Renowned Korean historian and patriotic speaker Jeon Han-gil will visit Honolulu, Hawaii, to deliver a special lecture titled “The Founding and Modern History of Free Democratic Korea”

on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 4:00 PM, at the Central Union Church Parish Hall(1660 S Beretania St, Honolulu, HI 96826).

이번 행사는 한미동맹 72주년을 기념해 한미애국동포연합 (The Korean-American Patriotic Alliance)이 주최하며, “한국의 자유민주주의 정통성을 세계 속에 다시 세운다”는 취지로 열린다.

The event, hosted by the Korean-American Patriotic Alliance, commemorates the 72nd anniversary of the Korea–U.S. alliance, aiming to reaffirm Korea’s commitment to freedom and democracy in the international arena.

2. 침묵하지 않는 교사, 깨어 있는 역사가

The Teacher Who Refused Silence

“이 나라를 사랑하는 마음이 죄입니까?”

“Is it a crime to love one’s country?”

“자유는 피로 세워지고, 책임으로 지켜진다.”

“Freedom is built on sacrifice and preserved through responsibility.”

한때 교단에 서서 학생과 청년들에게 역사를 가르치던 그는 이제 강의실을 넘어 광장과 거리, 그리고 해외 무대에서

자유의 교사(The Teacher of Liberty)로 불리고 있다.

Once a history instructor in Korea’s classrooms, Jeon has now become a teacher of liberty, speaking not only to students but to citizens, churches, and now, the world.

그의 연설은 단호하지만 선동적이지 않다. - 강렬하지만 품격이 있다.
그의 언어는 ‘분열’이 아니라 ‘기억’을 향한다.

His speech is firm yet never incendiary — passionate yet dignified.

His words seek not division but remembrance.

3. 전한길의 역사관 - “건국의 기적, 자유의 뿌리”

Jeon’s View of History - “The Miracle of Founding, the Root of Freedom”

전한길은 대한민국을 “하나님의 섭리 속에 세워진 자유의 나라”로 본다.
그에게 1948년은 단순한 연도가 아니라 “자유가 다시 태어난 날”이다.

Jeon interprets the Republic of Korea as “a nation of freedom founded under God’s providence.”

For him, August 15, 1948, is not just a date in history, but “the day liberty was reborn.”

그는 6·25전쟁을 전체주의에 맞선 자유의 방패, 산업화를 국민의 헌신으로 일군 기적으로 본다.
역사란 그에게 단순한 과거가 아니라 현재를 인도하는 예언의 언어다.

He regards the Korean Waras a shield against totalitarianism, and industrialization as a miracle born from the people’s devotion.

For Jeon, history is not merely the past—it is the prophetic language of the present.

4. “한국의 찰리 커크” - 자유를 설파하는 시대의 연설가

“Korea’s Charlie Kirk”-The Voice of Freedom for a New Generation

미국의 보수 청년 리더 찰리 커크(Charlie Kirk)는 자유시장경제와 신앙의 가치를 설파한 청년 운동가였다.
그가 세운 Turning Point USA는 젊은 세대에게 “자유는 유산이 아니라 지켜야 할 진리”라는 신념을 전했다.

American conservative youth leader Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, inspired a generation by declaring, “Freedom is not an inheritance—it is a truth we must defend.”

전한길은 그와 닮았다.
신앙과 애국심, 역사의식과 행동이 결합 된 지성형 연설가.
그래서 사람들은 그를 이렇게 부른다. — 전한길이 바로 “한국의 찰리 커크(Korea’s Charlie Kirk)”.라고 부른다.

Jeon mirrors that spirit—an intellectual speaker

who unites faith, patriotism, historical consciousness, and civic courage.
For this reason, many now call him “Korea’s Charlie Kirk.”

5. 하와이로 향하는 자유의 여정

The Journey of Freedom Toward Hawaii

하와이는 단순한 섬이 아니다.
그곳은 100년 전 조선의 청년들이 피와 눈물로 신앙을 지킨 곳이며, 자유의 씨앗이 처음 심어진 땅이다.

Hawaii is more than an island.

It is sacred ground where, over a century ago, Korean immigrants sowed the seeds of faith and freedom with tears and toil.

이제 그들의 후손 앞에서 전한길은 다시 외친다.

“자유는 하늘의 언약이요,

역사는 그 언약을 증언하는 기록입니다.”

“Freedom is heaven’s covenant,

and history is its enduring testimony.”

주최 측은 이번 강연회를 “한미동맹의 정신을 되새기고 자유대한의 정통성을 재확인하는 계기”로 평가하며, 하와이 교민 사회 역시 뜨거운 애국심으로 기대를 보이고 있다.

Organizers describe the event as “a reaffirmation of the Korea–U.S. alliance and of Korea’s democratic legitimacy.”
Hawaii’s Korean community is already showing enthusiastic anticipation.

6. 결론 — 자유는 기억에서 시작된다
